Dr Anita Collins is an Australian teacher and academic whose doctoral study, through the University of Melbourne, focused on neuroscience and music education and is titled "Bigger, Better Brains: Neuroscience, music education and the pre-service early childhood and primary (elementary) generalist teacher". It demonstrates the effectiveness learning music has on brain development. Here is a short video she helped to produced for TED Ed.
