Flute
Flute requires the player to stand in a particular way and hold the instrument up for long lengths of time as well as a good deal of breath control. It is best learnt from around 9 years of age. Adults can also happily learn flute and thoroughly enjoy it!
Flute lessons at Forte can be a great adjunct to school band programmes. If your child's interest is waning or you think he may be bored it's great to enrol in a few lessons. We have found that our students have regained their enthusiasm for music through private lessons and gone to the top of the class at school. There's nothing like good progress and sense of personal achievement to simulate interest.
What you'll learn...
the correct posture (the way a player stands and holds their instrument)
how play your instrument
how to read music and any other music theory required for playing flute
breathing in the correct way to control your sound
We recommend young beginners (4 - 8 yr olds) start with a Forte music course, where all the basics including pitch training are developed. See Our Philosophy.
Whether you're looking for a course or private lessons, come along to see just how good our teachers are and how much you will enjoy learning to play at Forte. Click here to find your local Forte School.
